Just plain cute....no more to say
From the mouths of children........

Sunday School class- We were talking about a simple Bible story, when Josiah-age 3- piped up:
"Satan lives in hell." O.k. I hadn't even been talking about Satan, but I guess he just wanted to make that known.
"Yes, Josiah. That's right, " I said. Before I could continue with the lesson, Patience-age 6- added her own comment:
"Uh-uh. He's not even real." I looked at her in shock. Yes, she's only 6, but could it be that the pastor's daughter really thought that Satan did not exist?
I responded slowly. "Oh, yes, Satan is real....."
Patience laughingly interrupted: "Oh, I thought he said 'Santa'."
To that, I laughed. I guess the two could be confused. Although she may have dashed someone's innocent belief in a jolly bearded man in a red suit.

I was doing my usual evening children watching thing, but this time there were 3 extra children. Some friends had come over for a visit. All of the children and I were hanging out in the basement watching Veggie Tales. I will admit that much of my time is spent in this way. We were watching the episode that concentrates on how God created us. Chloe-almost 5- was really thinking about it.
"God made people. He made me, He made you. He made Annika and Nils and Marta and Emma and Molly. " She paused and then made a serious conclusion: "He is a busy man." She nodded her head and her golden curls bobbed up and down. She was smiling, but it was obvious that she really thought it was amazing.

Princess Marta
She was very proud of herself for finding the things in the "I Spy" book.

Applaud everyone- this princess is super smart. And way too cute for her own good.

Is that humility I see with the little hand covering the eye?

Backyard Party Pics

Karyn posted a great slideshow from our Memorial Day grilling adventure. If you haven't seen them, check them out. Click on "Karyn" under
my Links.
Here's a few extra pics from my camera. Notice the damaged garbage can. Despite the beginning problems with the charcoal,
we still had a great time!

Hanging out with the new kids!

These pictures are long overdue. I took the Brown kids to the Gordon's indoor pool right after they moved to Rockford. We had a good time splashing around. Patience joined us later for some fun at the park.

On the Rock River

Barb is ready to ski!

Nils and I are prepared to get wet. This was before he threw my flip flops in the river.

Annika strikes a lovely pose.
