Flip Flop Woes
I love flip flops! I have several pair- I coordinate them with my outfits. They are fun.....and thankfully, inexpensive.
Last Saturday, Barb and I went out on the boat with Nils and Annika and their dad. He was attempting to teach Barb how to ski. The kids wanted to go on the inner tube. Barb tried her best to water ski. She got up a couple of times.....then fell down. She had a lot of fun, but has lots of bruises!
I don't ski.....but I went on the inner tube with the kids. While Annika and I were out, Nils must have been kind of bored because when I got back on the boat, he was talking about a shoe being in the water. I thought he was talking about his shoe, but then remembered that we had brought him onto the boat barefoot. Then I saw one of my brown flip flops lying on the floor. I asked him where the other one was. He laughingly told me that it was in the water. I screamed -and then Barb and Kendall and I all started laughing. Bad move. Nils threw the other flip flop in. Well, I guess I didn't need it. That afternoon I went out and bought a new pair of brown flip flops.
Last night Nils and I went outside to jump on the trampoline. I took off my very cool green and turquoise flip flops and laid them on the edge of the trampoline. Molly, the dog, jumped up and grabbed one and ran off with it. I yelled at her- Nils laughed. Nils laughs a lot. I went after Molly, which was exactly what she wanted. She held the flip flop in her mouth and ran. It was pointless for me to chase her. By the time she grew tired of her new "toy", it was in many different pieces. I walked inside the house with one flip flop on, carrying the destroyed one in my hand, which greatly amused the adults.
How many more flip flops will I lose this year?
