Annika Talks about God

A recent conversation between me and Annika went something like this:

"Annika, did you know that God does not like it when you are whining?"

"Well, God is not here."

"Oh, we might not be able to see God, but He can see us all the time. He can see you when you are eating dinner and when you are playing. He can see you when you are being good or when you are being naughty."

"No, good or bad." I guess she liked the word "bad" better than "naughty".

"O.k. He can see you when you are being good or bad. He sees you all the time."

"He can see me when I'm going to the bathroom."

"Well, yes......"

"You told me something about that. Remember? About when I am in bed."

"That's right. God is watching over you when you are sleeping- so you don't have to be scared to sleep in your bed. Even though God is invisible, He is still here taking care of you."

"I don't know what invisible means."

"Oh. It means that we can't see Him. But He is in heaven, and He can look down and see us."

" But you have to be dead to go to heaven."

Hmmm. Interesting comment. I tried not to laugh.
"Well, God is in charge of everything. He is not dead; He is alive, and He is in heaven watching over us."

"oh."

The conversation was over. We played beauty shop, and then went to get a cookie!
